PINEGARDEN ARIN
A highly rust resistant daylily whose very large reddish-pink eye really opens the viewers eyes.
Arin’s big eye is punctuated with white mid-rib streaks.
The eye is also circled with a darker shade of pink or red, contrasting sharply with the flesh base color.
The petals are edged with ruffles of the eye color.
Arin is fertile both ways.

PINEGARDEN COOL CAT
There are some different colors on this reverse bi-color, masked flower.
The petals are creamy-yellow with bronze lines while the sepals are a darker, pale bronze.
The eye and edge of the petals are dark purple.
The plants are husky and strong growing.
They are somewhat rust resistant.
Cool Cat is fertile both ways.

Caitlin’s flower is 6” in size and very ruffled.
The plant is strong growing with heavy foliage.
Caitlin’s yellow self has bubbly ruffles, sets lots of seeds and the pollen is fertile.

PINEGARDEN GILDA
Gilda is a pale gold with pink lines running through the petals to a very small green throat.
The petals have loose ruffles and the sepals are short.
The overall look is slightly pinched toward the throat.
The flower is 6”.

TIJUANA
This 6” bright orange flower got only bad shots during picture taking.

The top of my pink and white crosses.
A truly exceptional daylily.
The near-white, creamy ground supports a huge baby-pink eye.
The edge of the petals has heavy ruffles with gold, pink and bronze color.
The sepals are blunt.
The sturdy plant supports the 6 ½” nicely spaced flowers.
The foliage is green all year and it is rust resistant.
Fertile both ways.

PINEGARDEN BEGUILED AGAIN
Another rust resistant plant!
This one is in the edge with no eye category entry.
Pinegarden Beguiled again has a 5” flower that is a lovely shade of lavender.
The whitish-green watermark flows into a very green throat.
The petals are heavily ruffled and show the watermark colors and darker lavender.
The sepals are wide and blunt with a few crimps.
Fertile both ways.

PINK LONGLEGS EM 35” DOR.
This daylily was to be Silver Streak, but that name was taken
and actually Pink Longlegs describes this spider better.
It is pink with silver highlights and has very narrow sepals and
petals. I had a gully washer, when this plant was small,
that washed the name stakes down the hill, therefore the parents
are unknown.

*HIGHWAYS AND BYWAYS M 38” SEV.
Since this daylily is the only one I got from Angel’s Smile that
is rust resistant, I needed to keep it for rust resistant
crosses. Highways and Byways has dark pink petals, a light
pinkish-yellow eye zone with yellow edging and light pink sepals
which make it a bi-tone flower. The flower is 6 inches in
size.

The bloom on this plant approaches 6 inches, but the earliness
of the bloom is its strongest point. The color of the
bloom is pale yellow with a red halo enclosing a deeper yellow
eye zone to a small green throat. The plant is big and
sturdy. It remains green all season into early winter and
it is rust resistant

How daylilies show personality is difficult to explain.
The turn of a curl or tilt of the flower may explain it.
This 5 ” flower is a deep pink and has a whitish or pale yellow
edge all around the recurved sepals and more heavily ruffled
petals. Standard, you may say, but this flower draws your
attention because it has personality.

The light lavender base color has a bluish eye and edge on this
5 ” flower. It is rust resistant so I needed it to make
blue crosses. I want to get numerous shades of blue on
flowers that are rust resistant. Most of the flowers I
have looked at that have some blue also get rust.

Although this plant loses some of the verve of the original
flower, it is rust resistant so I will use it in hybridizing.
Looking much like Anna Ruby, its 5 ” flower is offered on a
somewhat larger plant.

I had only one small flower of tetraploid Pinegarden
Merry-Go-Round. I decided to add this beautifully colored
red one with a 3 ” flower of close to perfect form. The
plant is large and sturdy.
